Content of Lecture:

Application and analysis of basic mechanical as well as non-destructive testing of material.


The focus of the lecture lies on:

  • Determination elastic constants                                                                                                                    
  • Tensile test
  • Fatigue test (testing with constant stress, strain, or plastiv strain amplitude, low and high cycle fatigue, mean stress effect)
  • Crack growth upon static loading (stress intensity factor, fracture toughness)
  • Creep test
  • Hardness test
  • Charpy impact test
  • Non destructive testing
