Hamburg University of Technology is easy to travle to and offers many opportunities for sustainable mobility.

Public Transport

Hamburg University of Technology is easy to reach on the S-Bahn train line. Just catch the S 3 or S 31 to Heimfeld or Harburg Rathaus station. The 142 bus and a short walk connect the campus with the university’s Harbour Area. Check out other bus routes in the area.

By Car

Basically there should be enough parking spaces around the Hamburg University of Technology campus. However if you arrive later than others, you may have to plan in time for a slightly longer walk.

The main campus has three underground carparks that are open from 6.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. The entrances are shown on the campus map. Ticket machines are inside the entrances to the carparks.

There are also usually sufficient parking spaces around the Harbour Area site and the locations in Finkenwerder and Bergedorf (see campus map).

Bycicle

There are bicycle stands outside every building on the campus. There are secure bicycle “cages” in the underground garages of Buildings K/L and M/N. Please contact Facility Management for further information.

There is sufficient bicycle parking at the Harbour Area site and the locations in Finkenwerder and Bergedorf.

How to hire a bike

There is a "StadtRAD" station at the Hamburg University of Technology in Denickestrasse and two more in the Harbour Area:

Hamburg University of Technology also has 20 bikes for rent, available from the porters’ lodges at Buildings A and O on Mondays to Fridays from 7.30 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. There are also two children’s seats and children’s helmets.
