Ms. Inchara Kumaraswamy
I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from JSS University, Mysuru, India, in 2019 and worked as an environmental consultant for some time. In 2022, I began my Master’s program in Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, and graduated in 2025, specializing in Integrated Water Resources Management. My master’s thesis focused on analysing flow regulation and soil moisture in a weir-controlled infiltration system in Ansbach, Germany, using the HydroGeoSphere model. My main research interests include weather extremes, hydrological modelling, and machine learning.
In 2025, I started my PhD at the Institute of Geo-Hydroinformatics at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH). My research focuses on the saline dust originated from the desiccating saline lakes. Using multi-temporal remote sensing data, climate reanalysis datasets, and geospatial modelling, I aim to assess the global distribution of desiccated and desiccating lakes and analyse their impacts on ecosystem in general and saline dust storms in particular.
