Mike & Fran

We are happy to welcome two long-term visitors in the summer term 2023 at our instiute, Prof. Dr. Michael R. Fellows and Dr. Frances A. Rosamond!

Michael Ralph Fellows is a computer scientist and has been an Elite Professor of Computer Science at the University of Bergen, Norway, since January 2016. Prior to that, the was a professor at Charles Darwin University, Australia, and director of the Parameterized Complexity Research Unit. He has taught in the United States, Canada, New Zealand and Australia, as well as in the United Kingdom and Europe and lectured around the world. In 2018, the computer scientist was also awarded membership in the Academia Europaea. In 2016, he received Australia's highest civilian honor, the Order of Australia, Companion to the Queen. Fellows already received the Humboldt Research Award in 2007 and is now once again again in Germany at the invitation of the Foundation. The Humboldt Research Fellowship offers outstanding scientists and scholars from all over the world the opportunity to from all over the world the opportunity to carry out a long-term research project of their choice research project in cooperation with a research institution in Germany.

Frances Ann Novak Rosamond is an Australian computer scientist whose research interests include computer education and parameterized complexity. She is the editor of the Parameterized Complexity Newsletter, moderator of the parameterized complexity wiki, and publicity chair of the International Symposium on Parameterized and Exact Computation.

We hope the couple has a fun and productive stay at our Institute!
