24.06.2025 | Mental Strength in Pitching

On June 24, at the Körber Start-Hub, the exclusive UIF TUHH workshop "Mental Strength in Pitching" took place. Led by psychologist Neele Riemann, senior HR consultant and hypnosystemic coach, participants explored the power of mental strength and developed strategies to overcome nervousness and pitch with confidence. Through stress management methods, mental techniques, and insights from competitive sports, they learned to harness their thoughts for peak performance and unlock their full potential in high-pressure situations.

20.06.2025 | TUHH Buddy-Programm - Ice-Breaker: Pilot

On June 20th, the TUHH Buddy Program officially launched with a vibrant kickoff event that brought together students from across the university. The afternoon was filled with icebreaker activities and engaging conversations where participants shared “buddy success recipes.” The event also introduced the program’s upcoming plan, including weekly challenges, casual meetups, and a dedicated WhatsApp group to stay connected. With high energy, openness, and strong community spirit, the kickoff successfully set the tone for a month of meaningful connection, cultural exchange, and peer support.

18.06.2025 | TUHH Sommerfest with Cohort 25/26

On 18th of June, at this year’s TUHH Sommerfest, our new UIF Cohort 2025 made a dynamic debut with an interactive stall that captured the essence of innovation and creativity. Through a unique dart game challenge, visitors were invited to connect random topics and pitch quick, imaginative ideas — sparking fun, curiosity, and meaningful conversations around problem-solving. The activity not only showcased the UIF spirit but also helped connect with students excited about creative thinking and change-making on campus.

12.04.2025 | The Power of Storytelling – Successful Stakeholder Communication

On April 12th, we were thrilled to welcome UIF alumnus Jakob back for a dynamic workshop titled "The Power of Storytelling – Successful Stakeholder Communication" at Digital Hub Logistics & Commerce. Jakob brought incredible energy and insight, leading an interactive session that resonated deeply with our tech-driven crowd. Through practical storytelling frameworks, he showed us how to communicate with clarity, purpose, and impact.

4–6.04.2025 | DesignLab - University of Twente

From April 4–6, our UIF TUHH cohort joined the global UIF Meetup 2025 at the University of Twente’s DesignLab—and came back transformed. Immersed in bold conversations, hands-on sessions like Design Your Life and The Art of Gathering, and a mindset of curiosity over certainty, they didn’t just collect ideas—they embraced a new way of thinking.

19.11.2024 | How to: Mindfulness

On November 19th 2024, we partnered with Körber Startup Hub to host "How to: Mindfulness," an engaging session led by psychologist Neele Riemann. Students and founders explored practical tools for resilience and balance in their busy lives. The event featured guided relaxation exercises, actionable strategies for managing challenges, and a lively Q&A session that sparked meaningful conversations. Thank you to everyone who joined us in embracing mindfulness as a tool for sustainable success!

30.10.2024 | Bridging the Gender Health Data Gap – Endometriosis Insights & Solutions

On October 30, the University Innovation Fellows @TUHH hosted an event, in collaboration with Endometriose-Vereinigung Deutschland e.V., addressing the gender health data gap, with a focus on endometriosis. Participants emphasized the need for awareness, destigmatization, and research to tackle diagnosis delays and limited treatment options, while highlighting the role of educational initiatives in breaking taboos and fostering understanding.

22.10.24 | UIF Stakeholder Meeting - Women in STEM

On October 22, 2024, the UIF Cohort 2024 launched their mission to empower women in STEM with the Women in STEM-UIF Stakeholder Meeting at TUHH. Together with stakeholders (faculty and students), they reviewed data, planned a digital platform for mentoring and networking, and began implementation, TUHH Career Center and Startup Port indicated strong interest for close collaborations. The goal: to close the gender gap and foster opportunities for women in STEM at TUHH and beyond.

29.06.2024 | Design Thinking Lab

In this two-day workshop, students from TUHH and the University of Applied Sciences Europe worked in teams on a challenges based on the Design Thinking process. 

Our UIF alumni Gerrit and Alex moderated the workshop and shared their experiences of applying the Design Thinking method in real life. 

31.05. - 07.06. 2024 | UIF Impact Week: Sustainability

Together with TUHH students who were ready to make a difference on campus, our fellows created the Impact Week Sustainability! Students like you became the leaderso for change and impact! 

The inspiring week featured workshops in which students gained insights on creative ideation and effective prototyping and explores ways to make a lasting impact on campus sustainability with their peers. We are still thrilled about the vibe and ideas!

29.05.24 | How to boost your job application?

An exciting session on how to supercharge your job application! The TUHH Career Center and the University Innovation Fellows (UIF) teamed up to equip you with the essential tools to ace your future job applications.

In this 1.5-hour event, students had the chance to submit their CV in advance for personalized feedback. During the session, we provided hands-on examples and tips to help you craft a compelling CV. But that's not all – students also receives written feedback on your CV from our experts.

23.04.24 | Tech, Content and Sustainability

nextMedia.Hamburg, University Innovation Fellows (UIF), and the Ideenschmiede invite you to an exchange format, where we will present our interdisciplinary and practice-oriented offerings and projects for students from Hamburg.

We will discuss the current content and tech trends and the importance of sustainability because as students, you can make a significant difference both on campus and in the economy

09.12.23 | Something Mindful for You at TUHH

The winter in Hamburg can be quite long and grey, especially for international students, making it challenging for them to prioritize mental health during their studies.

In December, we came up with something special for the students! In an impulse lecture by the psychologist and coach Luisa Jarr and a guided meditation by Prof. Cornelius Herstatt, students were provided with useful tools to support their mental health.

June 2, 2023 | JMU meets TUHH @ Digital Logistics Hamburg

This workshop was conducted in collaboration with students from James Madison University on June 2, 2023, at the Digital Hub Logistics. Fifteen students from James Madison University and ten TUHH students worked on the question, "How might my sustainable workplace look like in 15 years?"

Moderated by the UIF Team (Amanda Baum, Luise Degen, Dr. Malte Krohn), the students were guided through a Design Thinking Sprint and developed prototypes. In the afternoon, they collectively took a sustainability-themed tour of the Hafen City.

April 21-23, 2023 | UIF x TUHH meets University of Twente

This workshop titled "Digital Campus" was organized and conducted by the UIF Cohort 22/23.

Twenty-four TUHH students traveled to the University of Twente in Enschede and collaborated with the local UIF Cohort on the topic of "Digital Campus of the Future."

October 6 & 7, 2022 | Pimp my Plane Workshop with Diehl Aviation

As part of the German Action Days for Sustainability, this workshop was established and conducted in collaboration with Diehl Aviation. In total, 20 students and ten experts from TUHH, Diehl Aviation, and Cradle-to-Cradle experts participated in the two-day workshop.

The question for the students was: "How might we help Diehl Aviation create a process for realizing C2C (Cradle-to-Cradle) constructions?"
