Donors & Friends Visiting the Hamburg Chamber Ballet

An evening dedicated to dance, connection, and artistic future

On October 29, 2026, donors and friends came together for a special evening with the Hamburg Chamber Ballet (Hamburger Kammerballett). The focus of the gathering was on the artistic work of the ensemble and its unique origin story. The Hamburg Chamber Ballet was founded in the summer of 2022 by Edvin Revazov, First Soloist at the Hamburg Ballet, and cultural manager Isabelle Rohlfs. The initiative arose from the desire to provide young dancers from Ukraine—who had lost their previous artistic home and had to give up their careers due to the war—with a new place of mutual trust and reliable structures within a professional environment in Hamburg. The ensemble operates independently from the Hamburg Ballet and the Hamburg State Opera (Hamburger Staatsoper) and is primarily financed through private donations and performances. Since its founding, 23 premieres have been realized, including 16 on Hamburg stages, and around 50 performances have been given as part of national and international guest appearances.

Six dancers impressively demonstrated, through wonderful excerpts from the repertoire and a simulated training session, how much can be achieved through commitment, solidarity, and support.
