The TUHH defines R&D activities and operates faculties which are directly linked to pragmatic applications in the Chemical Industry.

As neighbours in the city of Hamburg, HPA and TU Hamburg have been collaborating across faculties for many years, as equals and in a spirit of partnership. Through a junior professorship, adjunct lecturers, and teaching staff, HPA supports both teaching and research, as well as student funding and cooperation in research projects and field trials.
