TU Hamburg awards 150 Germany Scholarships

TU Hamburg thanks its 32 donors

In 2026, TU Hamburg set a new record for the number of Deutschlandstipendium grants awarded, with 150 students receiving support. Since 2016, the program has supported dedicated students who, in addition to excelling academically, demonstrate personal commitment and volunteer work. On February 5, 2026, recipients and sponsors celebrated the awarding of the scholarships and the 10th anniversary of the Germany Scholarship at TU Hamburg in Audimax 1 and at a formal dinner in the festively decorated TU Hamburg cafeteria on the TU campus.

The Vice President for Teaching at TU Hamburg, Prof. Thorsten Kern, emphasizes the scholarship’s great importance: “Our students use this support to fully realize their potential.” Compared to its student population, TU Hamburg ranks at the top in Hamburg and is a national leader. In addition to financial support, the Germany Scholarship offers access to mentor networks.

One of the mentors and sponsors of TU Hamburg’s Germany Scholarship recipients is the long-established Hamburg-based company Mankiewicz Gebr. & Co. GmbH & Co. KG. “As an innovative family business, supporting young talent is particularly close to our hearts,” says Managing Director Michael O. Grau. “The Germany Scholarship helps dedicated students achieve their goals and motivates them to actively shape the future—exactly what we at Mankiewicz value and promote.”

Hamburg University of Technology would like to thank the many supporters—including companies, foundations, private individuals, and alumni—who make this vital funding possible and thereby provide long-term support for the next generation of scholars.
