In the newly established Institute for „Organizational Design and Collaboration Engineering“ (endowed by the Hamburg located Technology Center Tempowerk) we conduct research and teaching in the areas of organizational design and collaboration engineering. We focus on the explanation and design of structures, systems, and processes to promote collaboration and innovation across disciplinary and organizational boundaries, specifically:

• Inter- and intraorganizational cooperation for competitiveness and innovation
• Design of organizational structures, systems, technologies, and processes to facilitate collaboration
• Management of open and collaborative organizational systems and networks (e.g. technology clusters, innovation platforms)
• Creation, selection, and evaluation of ideas within, outside, and across organizations
• Methods for designing new business models, products, services, and technologies
