Description

The course Traffic Systems and Handling Technology deals with fundamentals, capabilities and areas of application of different transport and handling technologies. Students learn to define, to evaluate and to dimension appropriate technologies for specified transport and handling tasks.

The lecture aims to provide skills of basics, potential application areas and advisability of different transport and handling techniques. At the end of the lecture, the students are capable of electing suitable techniques for evaluation and dimensioning of certain transport and handling problems. In addition to freights and loading units, the different means of transport, transshipment terminals and the necessary equipment will be addressed. Besides the traffic routes road, rail, waterways (inland and sea waterways) and air, the combined transport is also discussed.
