The main research and development activities of the Institute of Maritime Logistics focus on processes, systems, technologies and organisations in maritime logistics chains. The activities base on individual and consortia projects under the frameworks of national and international funding programs as well as contract research e.g. for ports, public authorities, terminal operators, shipping companies and logistics service providers. Investigation, development and application of new concepts, methods and solutions are parts of our research tasks which cover for example:
- logistical planning and simulation of seaports and terminals,
- logistics process design and control of processes and information exchange between maritime logistics stakeholders,
- analysis of mobility and company data using statistical and machine learning methods, and
- forecasts of the freight volumes and technological trends.
