At the “Grünes Wasserstoff Sofa” hosted by @Erneuerbare Energien Hamburg (EEHH), @Christian Masuhr from the @Institut für Flugzeug-Produktionstechnik at @Technische Universität Hamburg presented digital approaches to leak testing in hydrogen plants. Together with colleagues from @Pfeiffer Vacuum, current developments for testing processes in hydrogen infrastructure were discussed.

Hydrogen is volatile, invisible, and places high demands on safety and quality assurance. At IFPT, a digital assistance system is being developed to make manual leak testing more efficient, safer, and more traceable:

💡 Digital guidance during inspection for higher precision and reproducibility

💡 Automated documentation to ensure standards-compliant and auditable quality records

The open discussion with representatives from industry and research highlighted the key role of digital quality assurance for safety, profitability, and the successful ramp-up of the hydrogen economy in the Hamburg metropolitan region.
