Status: 14.06.2025
The Institute of Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Management offers courses for the Bachelor's degree programme in Civil and Environmental Engineering (B.Sc. degree) and for the Master's degree programme in Civil Engineering (M.Sc. degree).
Changes to the curriculum
Please note the current and future changes to the curriculum:
- Seminar Forum Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Management: will be cancelled from the winter semester 2024/25 onwards. Beginning with winter term 2025/26 this forum is continued in the framework of the module "Advanced Geotechnical Engineering"
- Module Geotechnical Engineering III: beginning with the winter semester 2025/26 this module contains the course “Advanced Geotechnical Engineering” only. This includes lecture notes (2 SWS), exercises (2 SWS) and a seminar (1 SWS). The previous course "Numerical Methods in Geotechnical Engineering" will be held in the module "Soil Mechanics and Soil dynamics" starting in summer semester 2026.
- Module Soil Mechanics and Soil Dynamics: starting with the summer semester 2026 this module contains the courses "Numerical Methods in Geotechnical Engineering" (3 ECTS), "Selected Topics in Soil Mechanics" (1 ECTS), and "Soil Mechanics" (2 ECTS). The previous course "Experimental Research in Geotechnical Engineering" is cancelled.
- Module Geotechnical Engineering I: beginning with winter term 2025/26 renamed in Soil Mechanics (Bodenmechanik)
- Module Geotechnical Engineering II: beginning with winter term 2025/26 renamed in Foundation Engineering (Grundbau)
