You want to have your participation in an ECIU recognized in your study program?

For successful participation in an ECIU Challenge, Master’s students can receive credit points in the Non-Technical Course Offerings (NTA). The following steps are required for this:

Before Participation

  1. At the beginning of the semester, enroll via Stud.IP in one of the following NTA courses in the Master’s program:
  • Join Nano Challenges of the ECIU University for challenges worth 1 ECTS
  • Join Mini Challenges of the ECIU University for challenges worth 3 ECTS
  • Join Standard Challenges of the ECIU University for challenges worth 6 ECTS

You can find the links and enrollment deadlines on the NTA information pages and in Stud.IP.

  1. Register on engage.eciu.eu (the platform for ECIU learning offers) for the challenge of your choice.

  2. Don’t forget to register in tune for the NTA module you selected! Without registration in tune, the challenge cannot be recorded as passed.

After Successful Participation

After successful participation, you will receive a microcredential from the hosting university. Once you have uploaded it to a wallet (see instructions below), you can share it as a link with Sascha Diedler (eciu@tuhh.de). He will then record the passed challenge with the corresponding ECTS credits in tune and Stud.IP, and it will be credited by the end of the respective semester.

Would you like to have a micro-module hosted by an ECIU partner and connected with a short-term mobility recognized?

Does your micro-module also include an on-campus phase at one of the ECIU partners? (The host institution and on-campus phase are each specified in the description on engage.eciu.eu.) In that case, recognition is handled through your Digital Learning Agreement. This is managed through the Mobility-Online portal of the International Affairs Department. The steps in detail are:

Before Participation

You should contactoutgoing(at)tuhh.de to request an evaluation for mobility funding and access to the TUHH Mobility-Online portal. As part of the mandatory Digital Learning Agreement (via Mobility-Online), the eligibility for recognition will be reviewed and a written, binding agreement for recognition at TUHH will be made with the responsible program coordinators.

After Successful Participation

For recognition, the necessary proof documents (microcredential and other required documents) must be uploaded to Mobility-Online.

The Examination Office of TU Hamburg will then record the successfully completed achievements that were previously agreed upon in the Digital Learning Agreement for recognition.

Please also refer to the information pages of the International Affairs Department at TUHH.

You have applied for an ECIU CHALLENGE with a trip to an ECIU partner and need travel funding?

Students who are enrolled in a Master's programme at the TU Hamburg and who wish to take part in an ECIU course with a compulsory on-campus part at an ECIU partner can apply for financial support up to two times. Scholarships are awarded in the form of lump sums for short-term mobilities.

Please contact us as soon as possible after uploading/submitting your application to participate in the ECIU teaching programme on engage.eciu.eu to Department 5 International Affairs and Ms Marina Leß, the ECIU Mobility Officer of the TU Hamburg. Mrs Leß will clarify the next steps, the amount of the lump sum and provides the necessary documents. More detailed information on the amount of the funding, the process and the necessary documents can be found on page https://www.tuhh.de/tuhh/en/international/outgoing-tuhh-students-staff/study-abroad#c170264.

Upload you Micro-credential in your Europass Wallet

After successfully completing an ECIU Challenge or Microcodul, you will receive the Microcredential as proof of learning. You will be notified of this via email to your ECIU account. The ECIU has joined the EuroPass Initiative (https://europass.europa.eu/en/issuing-digital-credentials), which means that your microcredential will also be recognised outside the universities in the ECIU network. You are now no longer dependent on the ECIU for further use. To do this, however, you need to upload it to the EuroPass Wallet (or a wallet of your choice). Instructions on how to do this are provided below.
