SPP1740 visited FERMAT: Binational symposium on reactive bubbly flow
Veranstaltungsort: Toulouse
The DFG Priority Program 1740 "The Influence of Local Transport Processes on Chemical Reactions in Bubble Flows" has hosted a binational symposium from 6 to 8 June 2016 together with the French research federation FERMAT in Toulouse, France. Under the heading "Non-Invasive Measuring Tools and Numerical Methods for the Investigation of Non-Reactive and Reactive Gas-Liquid Flows", 45 scientists from France and Germany probed into the question of how the yield and selectivity of chemical reactions with mass transfer can be enhanced. During the symposium, the scientists discussed current research results and exchanged the latest measuring techniques, models and numerical methods.
In Toulouse, the symposium was hosted by Laboratoire de Génie Chimique, the Institut de Mécanique des Fluides de Toulouse and Laboratoire d'Ingénierie des Systèmes Biologiques et des Procédés. On the German side, the symposium is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The symposium was conceived for the doctoral researchers within the frameworks of FERMAT and the Priority Program "The Influence of Local Transport Processes on Chemical Reactions in Bubble Flows", which is coordinated at Hamburg University of Technology by Professor Michael Schlüter. "FERMAT belongs to the world’s leading federations in our field of research and we will benefit from numerous synergies and future cooperations", says Schlüter.
