Master Thesis Position for Enzymatic Biopolymer Modification

The huge paper industry is generating large volumes of valuable lignin biopolymer, a byproduct
with nearly untapped potential. Enzymatic modification offers a green and innovative approach to
functionalize this natural polymer under mild conditions, opening new industrial applications.
Together with the institute for technical biocatalysis (ITB) we are exploring the development of such
bioengineered materials for applications in waste revalorization and enzyme immobilisation. This
thesis combines enzyme technology with (bio)material science, integrated into our broader R&D
roadmap and feeding directly into our core technology.

You will benefit from the expertise and infrastructure of the specialized ITB while working directly
with the founding team, generating fundamental knowledge that turns into actual innovation.
