The TUHH Campus Lab `Circular Economy´ serves as a collaborative research space that illustrates how society can shift from a disposable culture toward a sustainable system where products and resources are continuously reused, recycled, or manufactured from eco-friendly materials. Open to visitors from academia, industry, and politics, the lab features practical examples such as transforming coffee byproducts into new materials and developing fully compostable bioplastics as alternatives to conventional packaging.

During the TUHH Summer Festival, the newly established Cluster of Excellence BlueMat actively participated within the Circular Economy Campus Lab. Visitors engaged with interactive posters which illustrated the four BlueMat research areas and explored innovative materials that BlueMat’s experts have developed and produced using advanced 3D printing techniques.

The Summer Festival provided a platform for BlueMat to showcase its research, strengthen connections with other TUHH institutes involved in circular economy initiatives, and increase visibility within the broader sustainability community.
