Foam models

 

 

Polyurethane foam models of the pelvis have been developed to simulate press-fit conditions in acetabular cup anchorage. Turn-out capacity can be assessed, as well as implantation forces and cup deformation, which is particularly important for modern monobloc large diameter bearing designs.
