Nima had the opportunity to contribute to a recently published article in Forbes titled "Poor Soil Management Fuels Sand And Dust Storms Across The Middle East". He shared insights on how soil degradation—driven by poor land management and climate change—is intensifying sand and dust storms across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and beyond.  Healthy soil is essential for food security, water retention, and combating desertification— Yet soil remains largely overlooked in the global sustainability agenda. As Nima emphasized in the piece, “Dust particles don’t require visas to cross borders,” highlighting the need for global cooperation to address this transboundary challenge. If we are serious about building resilient communities and achieving the SDGs, soil must be part of the conversation.
