Project presentation at the HOOU year-end meeting

Our colleague Alexandra Eckert presented the “Agents of Change” online course at the HOOU year-end meeting.

After one year of dedicated development, our colleague Alexandra Eckert presented the results of the online course “Agents of Change” at the HOOU year-end meeting on December 9, 2025.

The main objective of the course is to raise awareness among participants about the environmental consequences of littering and to empower them to become agents of change who can sustainably reduce littering through social influence.

This is achieved through the interactive use of an agent-based simulation. In a virtual laboratory, participants experiment with how social influence affects littering behavior, gaining hands-on experience in conducting simulation experiments scientifically.

Present at the year-end meeting was the HOOU @TUHH team, led by Prof. Dr. Sönke Knutzen. The team played a crucial in supporting the development of the online course by providing didactic, technical, and visual advice, as well as valuable guidance regarding accessibility and infrastructural support.

In addition to our core team, project members from other HOOU-funded initiatives were present at the year-end meeting. Their active engagement and insightful feedback throughout the development process proved invaluable, helping us refine the course content, enhance user experience, and ensure the effectiveness of the learning objectives. We greatly appreciate their collaboration and the supportive HOOU community that fosters such fruitful exchanges.

Looking back on an exciting and productive year with HOOU, we eagerly anticipate the official launch of our online course on January 14, 2026.

Stay tuned for more updates and join us on the journey to becoming Agents of Change!
