CRC SMART Reactors at ERC-Symposium BioValCat 2026

Dominique Lumpp and Piet Hassenstein, PhD candidates in Prof. Jakob Albert's group at the Institute of Technical and Macromolecular Chemistry, represented our CRC at the symposium held at the University of Hamburg.

ERC grant holder and CRC project leader Prof. Jakob Albert hosted the international symposium at the University of Hamburg, bringing together international experts and researchers in the field of catalysis and biomass valorisation for two days of exciting presentations and networking opportunities.

Attendees also enjoyed a lively poster session showcasing cutting-edge research. Our CRC researchers Dominique Lumpp and Piet Hassenstein presented posters on their latest research results on the "Development of novel, highly active, and selective multifunctional carbon nanotube-supported catalysts for the chemical hydrogenolysis of glycerol to 1,2 propanediol (projekt A06)" and the "SMART multiphase reactor for the catalytic hydrogenolysis of glycerol (project C03)".

Congratulations to Dominique and Piet for their excellent work!
