We had the pleasure to welcome Prof. Federico Galvanin, an international leading expert in systems-based optimal experimental design approaches from the Department of Chemical Engineering at University College London (UCL) in the UK, to our CRC at the TUHH. In his motivating lecture, which was part of the CRC 1615 Winter Workshop on Design of Experiments and Model-Based Optimization, Prof. Galvanin discussed recent advancements in integrating physics-informed machine learning and model-based design of experiments to develop robust, data-efficient digital twin models for fast and interpretable identification of chemical process kinetics, particularly in automated flow reactor systems.
We sincerely thank Prof. Galvanin for visiting us and we look forward to future collaborations.
