Dr. Miriam Edel has won the highly endowed BioKreativ funding!

For her research project, "INSPIRE: Innovative Approaches to Succinate Production in Membrane Biofilm Reactors", Miriam will receive funding of 2.2 million euros from the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR).

Miriam Edel is also involved in the CRC SMART Reactors at the Hamburg University of Technology. In projects A05 and C02, she is investigating the integration of MES-driven biofilm systems into SMART reactors. These biofilm systems are adaptive, self-regulating platforms designed to operate reliably under dynamically changing conditions.

As a member of the CRC management board, Miriam also promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and strategic coordination across the CRC, thereby contributing to its overarching mission of developing resilient, intelligent bioprocesses for a sustainable future.

Congratulations, Miriam! We are very proud to have you in our CRC team!
