The Public utility Saarbrücken AG supplies the Saarbrücken Winterberg Clinic GmbH with electricuty, heat, steam and water. Air conditioning in the operating theatres and treatment rooms is provided by an adsorption refrigeration plant. The goal of the investigation performed here was to determine the operational behaviour of the adsorption refrigerator through measurement and to examine the integration of the machine into the district heating network.

On the basis of the measurements performed it was possible to optimise the integration of the adsorption cooler in the local district heating network.
