We are pleased to announce that Alexandra Eckert has been awarded a Pro Exzellenzia lead Scholarship, which will support the completion of her doctoral dissertation over a one-year period beginning on 1 July 2026.
Her dissertation project, provisionally titled “When Control Meets Culture: Agent-Based Modelling for Management Control System Research,” investigates alternative agent-based model specifications of social influence and their potential interaction with organizational control systems. The project seeks to contribute to the management control literature by contrasting different modelling approaches with a focus on their suitability for theoretical exposition. In particular, it aims to classify alternative model specifications based on their overall behavioral patterns and to assess the extent to which existing models can already provide meaningful theoretical insights into the interplay between organizational control and culture.
The Pro Exzellenzia Lead Scholarship is designed to support outstanding female researchers in selected disciplines, including the STEM fields (https://pro-exzellenzia.de/). The award is granted through a competitive internal selection process coordinated by the University’s Stabsstelle Gleichstellung.
We warmly congratulate her on this achievement and wish her every success as she completes the final stage of her doctoral research.
