The CampusLAB on Global Soil Health, Water, and Climate utilizes a plot of land (990 m²) at Hamburg University of Technology to strengthen research, innovation, and education in collaboration with the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH).
The Campuslab provides an integrated environment where students and researchers connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications to address real-world challenges related to soil, water, and climate. It serves as a platform for interdisciplinary research while supporting the development and testing of innovative environmental monitoring approaches.
The CampusLAB is embedded in teaching activities, where students receive hands-on training in environmental sensing technologies, field data collection, and soil characterization methods. Practical learning is further enhanced through the use of virtual and augmented reality technologies. By combining advanced research infrastructure with experiential learning, the CampusLAB supports our mission to advance innovation in environmental monitoring while preparing the next generation of scientists and engineers to address global environmental challenges.
