From 26 to 28 May 2026, the Annual Meeting on Reaction Engineering took place in Würzburg, bringing together researchers to exchange scientific ideas and discuss recent developments in chemical reaction engineering.
Dominique Lumpp presented a poster on the modelling-assisted development of carbon nanotube (CNT)-supported ruthenium–copper (Ru–Cu) catalysts for glycerol hydrogenolysis. The work combines polynomial and statistical modelling with machine-learning approaches to investigate the relationship between catalyst synthesis parameters and catalytic performance. The models connect synthesis parameters with glycerol conversion, 1,2-propanediol (1,2-PDO) selectivity and yield, with the aim of identifying promising optimization routes. By using data-driven modelling to support catalyst development, the approach aims to reduce trial-and-error efforts and facilitate the systematic identification of suitable catalyst synthesis conditions.
Congratulations to Dominique for his excellent presentation!
