We are looking for two PhD researchers in aerogel science at Hamburg University of Technology.
As part of the European MSCA Doctoral Network FAroGels, our institute is looking for two doctoral researchers working on bio-based and food-grade aerogels for sustainable food systems.
We are looking for motivated candidates with a strong background in chemical/process engineering, food engineering, materials science or related fields and enthusiasm for experimental research.
We offer an international MSCA training network, close collaboration with academic and industrial partners across Europe, scientific qualification with the opportunity to pursue a PhD, an interesting, friendly and appreciative research environment, an intensive onboarding and comprehensive training and further education programs.
Important MSCA mobility rule: Candidates must not have lived, worked, or studied in Germany for more than 12 months during the 36 months before recruitment.

PhD position 1 – Aerogels from non-gelling biopolymers
Develop new aerogels from proteins, soluble fibres and other biopolymers using advanced structuring and drying approaches.
