International Online Sustainability Week 2025

Participate in a focused, one-week course exploring key sustainability challenges in an international setting.

Overview

In September 2025, the International Online Sustainability Week will be offered for the first time. It brings together students from the University of Hamburg, Hamburg University of Technology, and international partner universities to engage with sustainability topics through collaborative and interactive formats.

  • Keynote Lectures: Keynotes explore sustainability from diverse angles, covering social justice, psychological influences, scientific insights, and real-world case studies.
  • Climate Action Simulation Game: Participate in a simulated UN climate summit. Negotiate climate policy decisions and observe their effects in real-time using the En-ROADS simulator.
  • The Week” – Group Experience: A structured group format encouraging students to reflect on the consequences of climate change and foster societal change through self-organized discussions.

This course is jointly led by Prof. Dr. Simone Neumann, Institute for Business Administration with a focus on Sustainable Logistics and Mobility at the University of Hamburg, and Prof. Dr. Christian Thies, Resilient and Sustainable Operations and Supply Chain Management Group at Hamburg University of Technology.
