5th Conference on Sustainable Supply Chains (SustSC 2025) & EURO PhD Summer School 🎓
The 5th Conference on Sustainable Supply Chains (SustSC 2025) was held from July 4–5, 2025, at the University of Graz, Austria. It was organized by the EURO Working Group on Sustainable Supply Chains (EWG-SSC) in cooperation with the Department of Operations and Information Systems, University of Graz and co-sponsored by the Association of European Operational Research Societies (EURO) and the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences, University of Graz.
Accompanying the conference, the EURO PhD Summer School on Sustainable Supply Chains took place June 30–July 4, featuring lectures, tutorials, and project-based learning from leading experts. Participants had the opportunity to engage with real-world case studies and present their own research at the conference.

Akin Ögrük presented his research titled “Supply Chain Network Design for Sustainable Aviation”, exploring cost optimal hydrogen network design strategies in aviation supply systems.

Francisco Encina showcased a poster on “Sustainability Tracking in the Supply Chain of Critical Raw Materials for Clean Energy Technologies,” focusing on traceability and sustainability metrics in electrical battery supply chains.

Prior to the conference, Francisco participated in the PhD Summer School (June 30–July 4), engaging in intensive scholarly discussions and collaborative learning.
