On 26 June 2026, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hamburg hosted an expert roundtable on port competitiveness, decarbonisation and critical infrastructure. The event brought together the Consulate General, KOTRA Hamburg, Korean companies in Hamburg and partners such as Hamburg Invest, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce (Handelskammer Hamburg) and OAV - German Asia-Pacific Business Association.
Three speakers set the stage: Dr. Hendrik Mahlkow (Kiel Institute für Wirtschaft) on supply chain shocks and port resilience, Patrick Zimmermann (Fraunhofer CML) on port decarbonisation and our colleague Marvin Kastner (Institute of Maritime Logistics, Technische Universität Hamburg) on critical infrastructure cooperation among European ports.
The discussion connected these themes to concrete implications for Korean firms in European logistics and to future Korea-Germany cooperation on supply chain resilience and green logistics.
Thank you for the invitation and exchange! 😊
