Institute of Integrated Circuits and Systems

Prof. Dr. Qiang Li

The Institute of Integrated Circuits and Systems (IICS) represents the field of microelectronics and integrated circuits at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH).

We work in the broad area of integrated circuit (IC) design, with a focus on biomedical and wearable applications, wireless and wirelined systems, and custom design for intelligence. As technology continues to evolve, our interests are expanding to include integrated systems both within and beyond the traditional boundaries of IC design.

The research topics of the Institute include:

  • data converters
  • sensor interface and integrated sensing systems
  • energy-efficient wireless and high-speed wirelined transceivers
  • analog computing
  • custom-design techniques for edge computing

We are building state-of-the-art infrastructure to support and advance our research activities.

In parallel, we are developing educational programs and carrying out teaching responsibilities to prepare the next generation of IC and system designers.

Should you be interested in any aspect of our research or activities, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

Note: The institute is setting up and we are working on the transition to the new website system. For some of the functions, particulartly the information on earlier work and the resource/application of student projects, please visit our legacy website: https://www.et5.tuhh.de/
