Explore ECIU opportunities for teachers this spring! Join a hands-on hackathon on lifelong learning or take part in Global Faculty Week in Lithuania. Connect internationally, exchange ideas, and help shape the future of education.

In addition to student-focused learning opportunities, ECIU also offers exciting formats specifically for teachers and academic staff. Two upcoming programmes invite you to rethink education, strengthen international collaboration, and actively contribute to shaping the ECIU ecosystem.

Ignite ECIU: Co-Creating Motivation for Life-Long Learning

Application deadline: March 31, 2026
On-site in Kaunas, Lithuania

This hackathon, hosted by Kaunas University of Technology, is designed for both teachers and academic staff who want to actively shape the future of ECIU engagement.

Key focus areas include:

  • Motivation & incentives: Moving beyond ECTS to create meaningful recognition

  • Transparency: Simplifying access to ECIU opportunities and processes

  • Digital + human support: Balancing technology with real human interaction

Participants will work in international teams to co-create practical solutions such as new incentive models, improved communication strategies, and hybrid support systems.

Dates: April 28–30, 2026
Format: On-campus hackathon with ideation, prototyping, and presentations
Outcome: Certificate of participation (no ECTS awarded)

Global Faculty Week 2026

May 4–8, 2026
Kaunas, Lithuania

Also organized by Kaunas University of Technology, this international event invites faculty members from partner universities worldwide to exchange ideas and strengthen collaboration.

Main objectives:

  • Integrate international and intercultural perspectives into curricula

  • Promote “internationalization at home”

  • Build and expand long-term academic partnerships

The programme includes guest lectures, networking activities, campus visits, and opportunities for teaching or training exchanges.

Important Note

For both opportunities:
There is no ECIU funding available to cover travel or participation costs.
Participants are expected to arrange funding through their home institution or other sources.

These initiatives offer a great chance for teachers to connect internationally, explore innovative educational approaches, and contribute to shaping the future of collaborative learning within ECIU.
