ERASMUS partnership with Warsaw University of Technology for more than 10 years

Since the academic year 1998/1999, there are bilateral agreements between Warsaw University of Technology (Faculty of Environmental Engineering) and TUHH (Institute of Wastewater Management and Water Protection) within the ERASMUS programme. This programme comprises staff mobility and students mobility. In 1999, Associate Professor Dr. Maria Furmanska (Warsaw University of Technology) visited TUHH for the first time teaching in the field of activated sludge biology. Since 2000 Dr. Holger Gulyas (TUHH) gives lectures on "Ecological sanitation" and non-biological oxidation processes at Warsaw University of Technology once a year. In 2010, Dr. Agnieszka Tabernacka and Dr. Adam Muszynski started their teaching activities at TUHH on biological processes for wastewater treatment, soil remediation and air pollution abatement within the exchange programme. They also regularly instruct TUHH students in identifying phosphate-accumulating bacteria in activated sludge within a practical course. Additionally, more than 10 students from Warsaw have completed their research work for diploma and master theses at TUHH within the ERASMUS partnership between Warsaw University of Technology and TUHH. This resulted in several common publications of the partners. Both partner universities intend to continue the very fruitful cooperation.
