thyssenkrupp Marine Systems GmbH (tkMS) formally known as Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft GmbH (HDW) is the global market leader in the production of non-nuclear submarines. The German Navy and the navies of 16 other states are counted among the clients of tkMS. More than 120 submarines have been completed in the last five decades.
The engineering department of tkMS uses panMARE within the framework of an automated propeller design process. Apart from propeller efficiency other criteria such as cavitation and hydroacoustics are considered to evaluate a given propeller design.
