Institute of Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Management
With the appointment of Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Grabe as a professor in 1998 the section 'Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Management' was founded and renamed in 'Institute for Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Management' in 2006. Research and education are focused on Geotechnical Engineering in general and Marine Geotechnics in particular. The main field of research activities is the optimization of geotechnical techniques and constructions by means of mathematical optimization and numerical simulation.
