Process Imaging (PBL) |
Untertitel:This course is part of the module: Process Imaging |
DozentIn:Prof. Dr. Alexander Penn, Dr. rer. nat. Stefan Benders, Dr. Maria Raquel Serial, M. Sc, Melis Özdemir |
Veranstaltungstyp:PBL -Projekt-/problembasierte Lehrveranstaltung |
Beschreibung: Content: The module focuses primarily on discussingestablished imaging techniques including (a) optical and infrared imaging, (b)magnetic resonance imaging, (c) X-ray imaging and tomography, and (d)ultrasound imaging and also covers a range of more recent imaging modalities. The students will learn: - whatthese imaging techniques can measure (such as sample density or concentration, material transport, chemical composition, temperature),
- howthe measurements work (physical measurement principles, hardware requirements, image reconstruction), and
- howto determine the most suited imaging methods for a given problem.
Learning goals: After the successful completion ofthe course, the students shall: - understandthe physical principles and practical aspects of the most common imagingmethods,
- beable to assess the pros and cons of these methods with regard to cost, complexity, expected contrasts, spatial and temporal resolution, and based onthis assessment
- beable to identify the most suited imaging modality for any specific engineeringchallenge in the field of chemical and bioprocess engineering.
