About 150 alumni gathered on the campus of the Hamburg University of Technology for the silver anniversary celebration and the Alumni Summer BBQ that followed. Some of them traveled particularly far to attend, coming to Hamburg from places such as England, the U.S., and Egypt.
The event kicked off with a ceremonial welcome for the silver anniversary celebrants. TUHH President Prof. Dr. Andreas Timm-Giel paid tribute to the graduates who received their bachelor’s or doctoral degrees 25 years ago and personally presented them with their anniversary certificates. For many guests, this was a moving moment and a wonderful opportunity to look back together on their college years and the journey they have taken since then.
Afterward, Dr. Ralf Grote gave the anniversary guests a tour of the campus. The tour brought back memories of their student days while also offering insights into the university’s development and changes over the past 25 years.
Starting at 6:00 p.m., alumni from all graduating classes were invited to the Alumni Summer BBQ. Over grilled food and Campusperle beer, there was plenty of opportunity to reconnect with former classmates, share memories, and make new connections within the alumni network.
The high level of interest and the international guests made it clear just how closely many alumni still feel connected to their alma mater, even after many years.
