Networking for Doctoral Students and Postdocs

Here you will find information on peer-to-peer networking opportunities for doctoral students at Hamburg University of Technology.

Co-Working / Lunch / After Work

Initiators: Jan, Dimitri, Lennart, Antje, Til & Swantje

Are you currently working on a writing project (paper, (interim) report, thesis) or are you generally looking for a motivating place to concentrate on your work? Do you need a change of scenery or want to meet colleagues outside the institute? We've got something for you! As a first result of our "Let's get Promovierendenrat-ed" meetings, we are offering a bi-weekly co-working session.

For the co-working, it is of course also possible to attend only part of the afternoon. In order not to disturb the concentrated work phases, we would ask you to join us only on the hour if possible.

When? 1 pm - 6 pm
Where? Room B 0.006 (unless otherwise indicated)
Dates: Thursday, May 2nd

Slack Workspace

Initiators: Alexandra und Marvin

We have heard from several WiMis/PhDs that they would like to network more closely across institutes. We have created a Slack workspace for this purpose:

  • Exchange about useful conferences/tools/software, mutual support in applying for funds, travel applications or issues regarding doctoral regulations, etc.
  • Arrangements for lunch or meetings off campus
  • FYI: Some use Slack and already know the UX & UI benefits. We would prefer it to Mattermost as a result.

Those of you who are interested can simply add your e-mail address and school of study (Dekanat) to the list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gzsphdsn9uqe-JcTrDWqW9708EJHJnjR-nufzUthzGw/edit?usp=sharing. We will then invite you to the slack server. You will also find all further information there.
