Thanks to generous support from Alumni und Förderer der TUHH e.V. and numerous donors the TU & YOU Lounge has been housed in the main TUHH building’s newly refurbished East Wing, complete with a kitchen and lounge area and a meeting room that provide alumni, academic staff, TUHH employees and guests from business, politics, the arts and society with an opportunity for communicative encounters. The TU & YOU Lounge is available for meetings and events and is intended to play a part in promoting exchange between active and former TUHH students and staff and their guests.
TU & YOU Lounge membership
For individual use and thereby to promote internal communication the TU & YOU Lounge is at the disposal of registered TU & YOU Lounge members (register at email@example.com). All TUHH students and staff and external members of the alumni association are entitled to membership.
The following applies to membership:
1) TUHH professors and employees pay an annual membership fee of €300 (or a reduced rate of €250 for professors and staff who are members of Alumni und Förderer der TUHH e.V.). The reduced rate for students is €250 (or €230 for students who are members of Alumni und Förderer der TUHH e.V.).
2) External members of Alumni und Förderer der TUHH e.V. who are no longer at the TUHH can use the TU & YOU Lounge free of charge but must first register and make a reservation at firstname.lastname@example.org. Members will pay their own bar bills. Registered TU & YOU Lounge members can make use of the drinks and snacks on offer at the prices listed (minibar principle). They will be billed every six months at the billing address provided on registration by TuTech Innovation GmbH. TUHH professors can settle their accounts (membership dues and consumption) via corresponding TuTech project accounts. This settlement is only possible for one member per project account (the first three digits of the project).
Use of the TU & YOU Lounge for events
The TU & YOU Lounge can be used subject to prior reservation for events that serve the purpose of communication and promote scientific and interdisciplinary exchange. Reservation inquiries for general events must be submitted to email@example.com at least three weeks in advance. Non-members will be charged a usage fee of 250,- € per event. The following “Allgemeine Nutzungsbedingungen der TU & YOU Lounge” (Terms and Conditions of Use for the TU & YOU Lounge) and “Allgemeine Miet- und Leihvertragsbedingungen für Veranstaltungen in den Räumen der Technischen Universität Hamburg-Harburg” (General Rental and Loan Contract Terms and Conditions for Events on the Premises of the Hamburg University of Technology) – shall apply.

General Terms and Conditions of Use
(1) The TU & YOU Lounge is at the disposal of registered users, hereinafter referred to as members. Apply to register at firstname.lastname@example.org. Guests only have access to the TU & YOU Lounge when accompanied by a registered member. (2) Along with confirmation of registration each member will receive, in return for a €10 deposit, a key to the TU & YOU Lounge. If you lose the key, please notify the concierge without delay (email@example.com). (3) The TU & YOU Lounge’s opening hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Use at other times may be agreed with the concierge at firstname.lastname@example.org. (4) The TU & YOU Lounge offers members hot and cold drinks and snacks on a self-service basis. Members make a note of their consumption and that of their guests on the coupon provided (minibar principle). They are billed every six months at the current prices. Please do not consume drinks of your own in the TU & YOU Lounge. (5) For events, such as workshops, reservation inquiries must be sent three weeks in advance to email@example.com. Bookings are only binding once they have been confirmed by e-mail. For larger events organizational details, such as deliveries, setting up, dismantling and collection of objects, must be agreed at least four weeks in advance with the concierge at firstname.lastname@example.org. (6) For special functions external service providers can be hired on recommendation by the concierge of the TU & YOU Lounge. Services ordered in this way must be paid for by members on their own account and in their own name. (7) The TU & YOU Lounge’s facilities must be treated carefully. After a visit the TU & YOU Lounge must be left clean and tidy as a gesture of politeness for the next guests. Tableware and empties must be left in the places provided.
