Objectives
Students acquire
- an overview of the process of computer animation
- a theoretical basis in computer graphics
- solid skills in modelling and shading
- solid skills in computer animation techniques
- a thorough command of Maya, a first-class animation system.
Students are able to direct a computer animation project: subdividing the project, devising the appropriate modelling and animation techniques on a theoretical basis, setting up illumination, shading, and rendering.
Prerequisites
Students are expected to have a solid knowledge of object-oriented programming as well as of linear algebra and geometry.

Computer graphics and animation are leading to an unprecedented visual revolution. The course deals with its technological foundations:

- Projections and Transformations
- Polygonal and Parametric Modelling
- Illuminating, Shading, Rendering
- Computer Animation Techniques
- Kinematics and Dynamics Effects
