Gerhard Bauch elected to the Board of Governors of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society

Gerhard Bauch, head of the Institute of Communications was elected to the board of governors of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society for the term 2019-2021.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest technical professional organization. Its objectives are the educational and technical advancement of electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering and allied disciplines.

The technical organizational units of IEEE are societies with certain technical focus. The Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) covers the fields

  • Land Transportation
  • Railroad/Mass Transit
  • Mobile Communications
  • Vehicular Electrotechnology Equipment and Systems
  • Land, Airborne and Maritime Mobile Services

The Vehicular Technology Society is governed by a volunteer board of governors consisting of 15 elected members and 14 appointees. In this year’s election, five board members have been elected from eleven candidates.
