The Institute of Communications is developing a new communications infrastructure for Joint Communication and Sensing in Hamburg as part of the HAWICC – Hanseatic Wireless Innovation Competence Center. In cooperation with other institutes from the TUHH, we are investigating a communication system with precise localization capabilities using wave field synthesis. Our goal is to serve the users by establishing sweet spots that promise enhanced signal quality and less interference for other users. Furthermore, the project is developing innovative sensor technology and AI-based analysis methods, as well as 6G connectivity, for the mobility infrastructure of the future. Within the “Deutsches Zentrum für Mobilität” (German center for mobility - DZM) framework, two projects are underway: 'Smart Building Systems through Recombination of Materials' (SBMuW) and 'Next Generation City Networking' (NGCN). The HCU and the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) are collaborating across disciplines within these projects as well as cooperate with practical partners from industry and civil society.
