Welcome to the Institute for Vocational Education and Digitalisation

The Institute for Vocational Education and Digitalisation at Hamburg University of Technology (TU Hamburg) is investigating the opportunities and challenges of digitalisation in the context of vocational education and training in order to prepare future teachers for this development.

The digital transformation plays a key role in the future of work and careers. In the context of research and teaching, there is therefore a great concern to strengthen the attractiveness of vocational education and training and to enable new research approaches and perspectives on the further development of occupational profiles. One focus here is on accompanying research into new technologies. This also includes the role and significance of AI-supported applications, such as the use of language models. This opens up new perspectives on the design and reflection of teaching and learning in schools and companies.
