From 23 to 25 September 2025, the 74th German Aerospace Congress (#DLRK) took place in Augsburg. The #FST was represented by three research associates - Kai Beschorner, Leif Rieck, and Ole Krawehl - who presented current findings and insights from their ongoing research. We would like to thank all congress participants for the valuable discussions, inspiring exchanges, and the high-quality presentations and posters that shaped a stimulating scientific program. Our sincere thanks also go to the #DGLR and everyone involved in organizing the event for hosting an excellent congress and creating a welcoming atmosphere for both scientific dialogue and personal networking. We look forward to meeting the community again at #DLRK2026 in Aachen.

On 07 September 2025, AIRMEET 2025 hosted by MFG Condor Heidenau took place at the model airfield in Heidenau. The event featured an extensive program including flight shows with civil and military model aircraft, helicopters, and various competitions, complemented by a wide range of ground activities for visitors of all ages. The FST maintains a close connection with MFG Condor Heidenau and its airfield, where our flight physics group regularly conducts tests with scaled aircraft. At this year’s AIRMEET, we presented our current research on scaled aircraft, hydrogen technologies, and intelligent wing concepts. In addition, our simulator attracted significant interest and became a highlight for many visitors. We would like to thank everyone for the engaging discussions and valuable exchanges.

In early September, the DLR Summer School took place in Braunschweig. The event provides students with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in flight experiments. Participants prepare the theoretical background for various experiments and subsequently collect, analyze, and present data obtained during flight campaigns onboard the D-ILAB aircraft of the Institute of Flight Guidance at Technische Universität Braunschweig and the D-FDLR aircraft of the German Aerospace Center (DLR). This year, our students Susanne Wenz, Timo Nickel, and Lilly Alina Witte took part in the Summer School and were all enthusiastic about the experience. A big thank you goes to Lisanne Riecher (TU Braunschweig, Institute for Flight Guidance) and Oliver Paxa (DLR) for making this event possible and for the excellent organization.
