Which Hardware is available at STS ?

STS hosts several computers for its students either as individual workstations or in a small pool environment for group work.
Those are Core2 8GB PC's running on the latest Version of Ubuntu Linux.

STS also hosts 2 VMWare hosts with each 2 Quad Xeon with 32GB for virtualization of server installations.

 

Which Software is available at STS ?

CodeSurfer®

Code Surfer is a program-understanding tool that makes manual review of code easier and faster.
A code browser that understands pointers, indirect function calls, and whole-program effects.

Axivion Bauhaus Suite

The fight against software erosion needs a holistic approach. Axivion Bauhaus Suite contains all necessary analysis modules to detect all triggers for software erosion, i.e., style violations, dead code, metric mavericks, duplicated code, cyclic dependencies, and architectural violations.

SVN

In software development, Apache Subversion (formerly called Subversion[1], command name svn) is a revision control system founded and sponsored in 2000 by CollabNet Inc. Developers use Subversion to maintain current and historical versions of files such as source code, web pages, and documentation. Its goal is to be a mostly-compatible successor to the widely used Concurrent Versions System (CVS).

CUDA

CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) ist ein Set von Werkzeugen für Nvidia Grafikkarten. Durch CUDA erhält man direkten Zugriff auf die Speicher- verwaltung der GPUs(Graphics Processing Unit).

You need a STS user account with group membership codesurfer.

 

How can I access software codesurfer ?

You can either
- work remotely on the server using an ssh client.e.g. under unix ssh -X plateau.sts.tu-harburg.de
or
- work on one of the computers in the STS-Pool.

How do I get access to ameise ?

You need an account for the ameise system.

 

How do I work with ameise ?

You can either
a. work remotely on the server using a locally installed client on your
computer. You can find a windows and a java client in this .zip file.
or you can
b. work on one of the computers in the STS-Pool.
Then you additonally need a STS user account.

 

How do I get access to SVN ?

You need a STS SVN ACCOUNT and a SVN REPOSITORY NAME
