Sent Folder

To save your outgoing mails on the IMAP-Server, not in the .pst file on your local disk, choose the "Sent"-Folder location:
Open "Account Settings" (see very first picture) and choose "E-mail": Select newly created Account, Press "Change",

Press "More-Settings...", select "Folders":

Favorite Folders

Adding your Inbox to the favorite folders makes access easier, especially if you have a lot of IMAP Folder:

Download behavior

To make sure that you do not download all messages from all your IMAP folders to your local disk, you need to select the receive-behavior:

Use settings at your own choice, but most likely you do not want to download each single SPAM-mail:

But most likely you want to download all mails in your Inbox:

How to Purge Messages

If you press the delete button for a message on an IMAP Server in Outlook, it only marks the message as deleted and displays it ruled out. To permanently delete it you have serveral options:
  1. Select an IMAP folder, choose Edit->Purge->Purge marked items in "<foldername>"
  2. or select "Purge items when switching folder while online"
    To do so, select an IMAP folder, go to Tools->Options...->Mail Setup->E-mail Accounts...->Email,
    Select newly created Account, Press "Change",
    ->More-Settings->General

  3. or customize a purge button to the toolbar.
    To do so, select an IMAP folder, go to Tools->Customize->Commands.
    In Categories, select "Edit", in Commands, scroll down to 'Purge Marked Items in "<foldername>"'.

    Move mouse over "Purge Marked Items in <foldername>" and press left mouse button. Drag and drop item to the toolbar:

    Further customization like changeing the text or choose a different icon is possible by pressing the right mouse button on the icon as long as the customize window is open.

LDAP Addressbook

Open "Account Settings" (see very first picture) and choose "Address books":

Replace "<your login>" by your userid. E.G.
