Abstract: Accurate reconstruction of the spatial structure of Fiber Bragg Gratings with a resolution of some microns can be done using Optical Frequency Domain Reflectometry and Inverse Scattering. We are incorporating these methods for analyzing, improving and calibrating UV-writing setups. Furthermore we are performing in-situ measurements for accurately tailoring local grating properties in an iterative process with as few as three UV-writing steps.
