Crosstalk Reduction of Arrayed Waveguide Gratings by UV Trimming of Individual Waveguides Without H2-Loading

Abstract: Fabrication induced phase errors of arrayed waveguide gratings have been successfully reduced using UV-trimming of grating waveguides. Phase error compensation up to 5 rad and crosstalk reduction down to –35 dB have been achieved without hydrogen loading.
