<p>Practical lab work on e.g. the following topics</p><ul><li>Determination of heavy metal (Zinc)</li><li>Determination of FOS/TAC</li><li>Complexometric titration</li><li>Fe2+-complex stoichiometry</li></ul><p>Discussion and learning according to e.g. the following questions</p><ul><li>What is redox potential, how does it come about (formulae, relationship), how is it measured and for what purpose? </li><li>What is the difference between distilled water, double distilled water, deionized water, demineralised water, mineral water normal water</li><li>How many molecules are in 0.001 moles of water? </li><li>How many moles are in 100 water molecules?</li><li>What is a \"standard solution\"? Why standard solutions are prepared? </li><li>If you have a solution that is 5% (w/v) of an alcohol in water, what mass of alcohol is present in 1.0 L of this solution?</li><li> How do you determine concentration of hydrogen ions at given pH of a solution?<br /></li><li>What will be the molarity of hydrogen ions in a pH 5 solution?</li><li>What is the meaning of the equivalence point of a titration curve, for what purposes are titrations used? </li><li>What is a weak acid and a strong base? Explain by 2 examples.•What is the difference between concentration and activity? </li><li>What is complexation and what is a complexation constant?</li><li>What are: Solubility product, colloids, aquo-ion, ion strength, element speciation, and metal speciation? </li><li>Calculate for each experiment the masses needed to produce the respective solutions. <br /></li></ul> |
